A Unique Opportunity for Young Writers
Year 6 pupils from St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Stockton recently enjoyed an exciting day as guests of Pobble Education at the Literacy for Sport event during the Scottish Open.
The visit provided a fantastic opportunity for children to combine creativity and sport, developing their writing skills in a unique and inspiring setting.
Bringing Sporting Moments to Life
As part of the event, the pupils were challenged to write about what it would feel like to sink the winning putt on the final day of the Championship and secure victory.
The activity encouraged the children to use their imagination, creativity and descriptive writing skills while drawing inspiration from the exciting atmosphere of a professional sporting event.
Meeting Golfing Stars
Alongside their writing activities, the children had the opportunity to watch world-class golfers in action and experience the excitement of elite sport up close.
A particular highlight of the day was meeting a number of professional golfers, including Tommy Fleetwood, making the experience one the pupils are sure to remember.
A Memorable Day of Learning
The Literacy for Sport event was a wonderful opportunity to inspire a love of both writing and sport, while giving pupils a memorable experience beyond the classroom.
