Exploring Local History Through Hands-On Learning
Year 3 pupils from St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Fairfield recently enjoyed a fantastic visit to Hopetown, where they immersed themselves in the rich history of the local area.
Throughout the day, the children explored historical exhibits, learned about the area's railway heritage and asked lots of thoughtful and insightful questions, demonstrating great curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
An Exciting Railway Adventure
One of the highlights of the visit was the immersive 'Experiment!' railway ride, which brought history to life and gave pupils a memorable and exciting experience.
The interactive attraction helped the children develop a deeper understanding of the important role railways have played in the region's history.
Dressing Up and Discovering the Past
The children also had great fun dressing up in historical costumes, giving them the opportunity to imagine what life might have been like in the past.
These hands-on experiences helped make learning engaging, enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved.
