This week, St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary School was buzzing with creativity as pupils enjoyed a hands-on Design Technology (DT) week focused on food technology. From chopping and grating to tasting and creating, our children explored healthy eating and cooking skills in exciting, practical ways that made learning come alive.

Rainbow Salads with Mrs. Moore and Miss Knight

In Mrs. Moore and Miss Knight’s classroom, pupils prepared their own rainbow salads using a variety of fresh vegetables. They learned essential food preparation skills like chopping and grating while discovering the importance of eating a colourful, balanced diet. The results? Delicious, crunchy salads and lots of smiles!

Winter Fruit Tarts with Mr Fletcher and Mr Williams

Over in Mr Fletcher and Mr Williams’ classes, pupils baked winter fruit tarts using seasonal ingredients available in the UK. This activity taught children about sustainable eating and seasonal produce while giving them the chance to create tasty treats that looked as good as they smelled.

Healthy Wrap Creations in Year 3

Our Year 3 pupils got creative with healthy wraps and pittas. They experimented with fresh ingredients, explored flavour combinations, and made nutritious wraps to enjoy. Their pride in their culinary creations was clear - well done, Year 3!

Smoothie Fun with Miss Bullen
