Sharing the Joy of Reading
St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Fairfield recently celebrated a fantastic Mini Vinnies Book Swap, and it was a great success.
Children were invited to bring in their pre-loved books and exchange them for a different one to take home. The event created a real sense of excitement, as pupils explored new stories while sharing their own favourites with others.
Living Out Catholic Social Teaching
The book swap was a wonderful example of children putting their faith into action by embracing the Catholic Social Teaching principle of sustainability.
Through this initiative, pupils:
- Reused and valued existing resources
- Helped to reduce waste
- Recognised the importance of caring for the world around them
It was encouraging to see pupils actively making thoughtful and responsible choices.
A Community Effort
The event highlighted the generosity and kindness within the school community, with so many children taking part and supporting one another.
A big thank you goes to everyone who contributed to making the Mini Vinnies Book Swap such a special and meaningful event.
Well done to all involved for helping to spread the joy of reading while caring for our common home.
