Pupils from St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Fairfield have enjoyed a special and memorable visit to the Lady Chapel, filled with faith, teamwork and outdoor adventure.

A Joyful Start to the Journey

The children successfully completed their walk up to the Lady Chapel, arriving full of excitement and ready to come together in prayer. With the sun shining and smiles all around, the atmosphere was one of joy and anticipation.

A Time for Prayer and Reflection

During their visit, pupils took part in a Service of the Word and Holy Communion, offering a meaningful opportunity to reflect and deepen their faith. It was a special moment for the children to pause, pray and share in worship together.

Teamwork and Outdoor Learning

After their service, pupils worked together to set up camp for the night, showing excellent teamwork and support for one another. It was wonderful to see children helping each other and working collaboratively.

The afternoon brought plenty of fun, as pupils got involved in bush craft activities, developing practical skills while enjoying the outdoors.

Weather Changes but Spirits Stay High

Although the weather took a turn for the worse later in the day, it did little to dampen spirits. The children remained positive and in good spirits as they looked forward to enjoying a BBQ together.

A Peaceful Night and Fresh Morning

The group enjoyed a brilliant night, with children sleeping so well that a few even had to be woken in the morning. The next day began beautifully, with calm surroundings at the Lady Chapel.

Ready for the Next Adventure

After packing away camp, pupils prepared for breakfast and a walk around Cod Beck Reservoir, continuing their time outdoors with another opportunity to explore and enjoy nature.

This memorable visit provided pupils with a valuable mix of faith, friendship and outdoor learning, creating experiences they will carry with them for years to come.
