A Valuable Visit for Budding Speakers
Our Debate Club at St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Stockton had an exciting afternoon as they welcomed local MP Matt Vickers to their session. The visit offered pupils a fantastic opportunity to learn firsthand about the importance of confident communication and respectful debating.
Learning the Skills That Matter
Mr Vickers spoke to the children about key elements of public speaking, including:

- Structuring an argument clearly
- Listening carefully to others
- Presenting ideas with confidence
These skills are essential as our pupils continue to grow in their debating journey, helping them to think critically, express themselves clearly, and engage in thoughtful discussion.
