This week, children in Key Stage 1 at St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Stockton continued their exciting journey into the world of Shakespeare.

Year 2 Bring the Witches’ Chant to Life

Miss Knight’s Year 2 class explored the famous Witches’ Chant from Macbeth as part of their Shakespeare English unit.
They listened closely to the poem, shared imaginative ideas and had great fun acting out the spooky scene together.
Their creativity and enthusiasm were brilliant - and the children are now looking forward to writing their very own version of the witches’ poem next week.

Year 1/2 Step Into Shakespeare’s Spooky World

On Tuesday, Mrs Moores’ Year 1/2 class also stepped into the eerie atmosphere of Macbeth.
The children listened to the chant, discussed the spooky language and enjoyed acting it out as a group.
Their excitement was infectious, and they are eager to start crafting their own witches' poem next week.

Bringing Classic Literature to Young Learners

It has been wonderful to see our Year 1 and Year 2 pupils engaging so confidently with Shakespearean language - exploring rhythm, expression and atmosphere through drama and storytelling.

We can’t wait to see the creative writing that follows!
